After a brief break, the guys are back to talk all about their adventures in San Jose and to discuss Payback 2017.

Episode 189 begins, however, with some lead in to Payback with a review of 205 Live from April 25, 2017. Mustafa Ali took on Tony Neese and in the Main Event, the reigning Cruiserweight Champion, Neville, went up against one of his rivals, Jack Gallagher. Would Austin Aries get involved leading into their match at Payback?

From there, the guys recap NXT from April 26, 2017. This episode saw hostilities between Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot truly reach the boiling point with not one, but two, brawls breaking out between the two ladies. Drew McIntyre took on Andrade “Cien” Almas. In the Main Event, Jack Gallagher, pulling double duty this week, went up against Tyler Bate with the WWE UK Championship on the line. Did Gentleman Jack capture gold? We let you know on Episode 189.

It is then on to the Main Event of this Episode, our review of Payback ’17. We were in San Jose for the event and we give our thoughts on not just the matches and the outcomes, but on the things we noticed about the crowd reactions that may not have been so evident on the Network broadcast of the event. Did Chris Jericho get payback on Kevin Owens and reclaim the United States Championship? Did Neville’s kingdom come crashing down? What stunning development did we see at the conclusion of the Hardy Boyz vs Cesaro and Sheamus match? Did Alexa Bliss ruin Bayley’s homecoming? What was the House of Horrors match…and why was the absurdity of the whole thing made 10 times worse for those of us in San Jose that night? Did Seth Rollins get a measure of revenge against Samoa Joe. And could Roman Reigns conquer Braun Strowman again? We provide all our thoughts on a much better than expected Raw exclusive PPV right here on Episode 189.
