For Episode 123, we review the past week of action in NXT and the Cruiserweight Classic.

NXT draws ever closer to Takeover: Brooklyn II and last week’s installment was all about setting the table for NXT’s biggest event of the summer. Bayley and Asuka signed the contract for their rematch for Asuka’s NXT Women’s Championship and there was no shortage of intensity in this segment. The Authors of Pain continued to run roughshod over the NXT Tag Team division while William Regal booked a NXT Tag Team Championship match at Takeover between The Revival and the team of Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa. We also discovered that it will be Bobby Roode making his in-ring debut at Takeover against Andrade “Cien” Almas while Austin Aries will face No Way Jose. MoJo Rawley looked to make a statement and get even with the NXT Champion, Samoa Joe. How did that turn out and, more importantly, would we see any interaction between Joe and the challenger for his title at Takeover, Shinsuke Nakamura? We fill in all the details for you on Episode 123.

The CWC began its 2nd round of action as the Sweet 16 got going with two incredible matches. Tajiri tried to keep his dreams alive when he faced off against Gran Metalik. In a great match that showcased similar, albeit very different styles, could the wily old veteran beat back the challenge of the young and very skilled Luchador? Then, in the second match, Kota Ibushi and Cedric Alexander turned in what many are calling the Match Of The Year. What made the match so great? And what happened at the end of the CWC broadcast that may qualify for Best Moment Of The Year? The CWC might very well be the best thing going in pro wrestling right now and we let you know why here on Episode 123.
