On Episode 130, we take a look back at last week’s action on NXT and we also review the first two matchups from the Quarterfinals of the Cruiserweight Classic.
On NXT, the fall out from Takeover: Brooklyn II was still being felt as the landscape of NXT continued to evolve. Mid-carders took center stage as Steve Cutler and Liv Morgan were in action, as was Tye Dillinger. The Revival tried to take out Tomasso Ciampa while No Way Jose tried to get back on the winning track against Angelo Dawkins. We also had the new NXT Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, address the NXT Universe as the Era of Strongstyle officially began.
As for the CWC, the Quarterfinals began with two excellent matches. Gran Metalik took on Akira Tozawa in one match while Brian Kendrick battled Kota Ibushi in the other Quarterfinal match.
