We continue to try and get caught up here by releasing episodes we had already recorded but for which time constraints have caused a delay in getting those Episodes released. Episode 117 is one of those Episodes.
We begin by reviewing NXT from the week of July 18, 2016. This was the NXT the day after the Draft. The NXT Champion, Samoa Joe, returned to action as he tangled with the Man-Beast, Rhyno. American Alpha, fresh off being drafted to Smackdown Live, looked for a measure of revenge against The Authors of Pain. In the Main Event, Nia Jax met Bayley in the rubber match between the two women. Who would win this battle and stake their claim to being the #1 contender to Asuka’s NXT Women’s Championship? We cover that for you here on Episode 117.
We then review Episode 2 of the Cruiserweight Classic. This Episode featured great matchups between Tajiri and Damien Slater, TJ Perkins vs Da Mack, Mustafa Husein vs Lince Doarado, and Akira Tozawa vs Kenneth Johnson. Who won to advance to the Sweet 16 of the CWC? We let you know on Episode 117.
We then close things down by previewing Battleground ’16. By now, most everyone knows how things turned out but we are releasing our preview show anyway so you can see how accurate or, in some cases, way off the mark we really were. We predicted everything from who Sasha Banks’ mystery partner would be right down to the winner of The Shield Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship. How did we do? Pretty well actually.
